Was trying to figure out how to make shield transfers for the Late Roman archers (none commercially available) and ran across a VERY fiddly way to do so:

  I have made flags by printing onto standard 80gsm paper and gluing it onto the foil from sparking wine bottles.

  Shield patterns are more difficult. I have printed onto 80gsm paper then glued them onto shields a trimmed. The trimming is a bit fiddly.

  I make my own flags, transfers and paper shield decorations as and when. I did list them on EBAy many moons ago and sold a few but it took such a long time I gave up in the end. Various blog entries show them or hand painted shields. https://drewjarman…
