Cooking Apicius: Roman recipes for today - posted by Vince Cholewa, 26 October 2019

Ordered by my favourite wife, this book arrived in the post yesterday. I know, it’s not DBMM but a sampling of 1st Century AD Roman cuisine will be interesting. Progress reports will be posted as comments. For the record: There are no recipes in this edition for fattened dormice or stuffed sow’s udder; and it is unlikely that Apicius was actually the author of the Roman book that carries his name, it would have been used by slaves not by a member of the wealthy, educated elite.
