Yesterday afternoon, the principal went to Tiger Room and have the figures of two armies ready for play: Spring and Autumn Period China and Korguryo, to prepare for the games this week against Grandmaster Lawrence Greaves from the Dbmm commentary committee. The Grandmaster will come to Hong Kong tonight.
Among current dbmm players in China and Hong Kong, four have won awards in ITC and Britcon dbmm competitions in the UK. These include Herbert Wong, Hero, Chris Doran, and Sam Kwan. Except for Chris, none of these four Super Class A players were able to attend the Meeting Lawrence Greaves event organised by Tiger Room for the Grandmaster. This year's event for the Grandmaster is themed "Book 2 Asian Armies," allowing Grandmaster to take photos to include in the newly formatted dbmm army books.
The principal plans to use Sam Kwan’s Spring and Autumn Period Chinese, Hero’s Korguryo armies (different list, of course) against Grandmaster. Victory or defeat is not important; the main purpose is to give Grandmaster the opportunity to play against these Asian armies, uncommon among the Eurpoean players. It is a sham that the principal's new Tien and Kunming are still under construction, otherwise the principal would have chosen it. The principal might play four or five games with the Grandmaster this time; the Southern Dynasty & Northern Dynasty of the Northern and Southern Dynasties Chinese are also possible choices.
The Grandmaster arrived in Hong Kong at 11 pm last night and is resting at a hotel in Jordan. The principal will receive him today.
