What are your most excellent measuring tools? Asked by Julian Hannam, 25 August 2024

Gents, can I have some pics of your most used and excellent measuring tools. What are the thoughts on many little sticks vs one stick to rule them all? How about any other devices for measuring, laser range finders and tiny robots?

Hi Julian these are the only two I have.

The measuring stick is 60mm wide (80p) for threat zone etc. It has smaller 40p markings between the 80, 160, 240, 320 and 400; also on the end for shooting arc.

The triangle is a simple way of checking if both corners are close enough to EMTLU.

I have (somewhere) a plan for a pair of sticks which link together to cover everything you need. I manually made a set from mdf but plan to cut one with a laser cutter. I did them for 15mm but obviously the principle remains. I'll try to find it when I get home.

Not sure how 'link' became 'definitely' but there you go. Correct now. Thanks Mr Zuckerberg . . .

Got any dopey dog bases left over? I made a set of measuring sticks using glue and magnetic backing out of them, photo later. Or you can buy some brass ones from a UK website, set costs Uk60
