Pukekohe Action - posted by Andrew Bennetts, 7 June 2026

First Sunday of the month DBMM action from Pukekohe.

Three games were played:
Gerard's Anglo-Irish gave my Sicilian Normans a sound lesson in the shooting power of Irregular Bw(S).
John Calnan's Swiss steam rolled Al Donald's WOTR English.

Bryan Osbourne's Classical Indians gave newcomer Arthur and his Feudal Spanish no less than two introductory games

The plan rolled out like … clockwork ðŸ™ƒ

Sicilian Norman infantry try to catch Gerard's mercurial Irish allies while in the centre, Norman knights throw themselves against Anglo Irish foot in an attempt to avoid the torrent of arrows into their flank. Needless to say it didn't end well (for the Sicilians that is!)

On the other flank, Norman knights belatedly appear from ambush to threaten the Anglo-Irish mounted bow. Again. it didn't end well for the Normans!
Note the absence of anything in the Sicilian centre - they are all lying down with arrows sticking out of them!

If only you had deployed your infantry in the centre....
