DBMM 100 inter-club: from the organiser - posted by Neil Williamson, 23 May, 2024

We had a great turnout at the Hutt club yesterday for an expanded meeting of the DBMM Interclub.
There were four teams present representing:
Horowhenua; Vince(C), Chris, and Richard
HMWC; Graham(C), Gary, and Peter
Marauders; Neil(C), Jim, and Craig
Warlords; Alastair(C), Steven, and Brett
It was 120ap using DBMM 100 rules but with the big boys scoring system. It was played over 4 rounds of 75 minutes plus deployment time.
The players had an army from 3 periods and played within their period for 3 games, then fudged for the fourth.
A good time was had by all, even when they got thrashed. The time limit worked well giving time to get a result for about half of the games.
It is hoped that we can run again next year, hopefully with 4 players in a team.
Special thanks to Jim for standing in at short notice and Richard at just minutes notice.
A few pictures, not that I had time to take many.

Thanks to everyone for coming and the Hutt Club for support.

Many thanks Neil, the Horowhenua contingent had a great time. Learned heaps - DBMM 100 is surprisingly different to the big game, not just a smaller version. And I’d like to point out, the Warlords could not have done it without us! Go Brett!
And a big thank you to Richard Mason from the Hutt Club, who stepped up for us at the last minute because one of our team member’s, Samuel, truck broke down in Auckland on Friday.
