This weekend, 27th & 28th April, is the Hutt Miniature Wargames Club annual event, Valleycon. While the main activity is at Expressions in Upper Hutt the DBMM competition will be held at St. Brendan’s school in Trentham.

16 participants from across the North Island will be competing for the five trophies recognizing 1st Place, 2ndPlace, 3rd Place, General Slayer and Baggage Looter. There will also be a prize for the best looking army on the weekend.

There will be two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. The competition will be divided into two groups for the first three rounds, (Army List Books 1 & 2 and 3 & 4) and all games will be in-group. The fourth game will be between players in corresponding positions in each group. The final positions will be decided by the outcome of final round game.

Hopefully good fun is had by all!

Many thanks for organising the competition, Phil. I will be using the Mitanni army I created from boxes of Bronze Age figures in Brent Senior-Partridge’s estate.

Does that mean the final positions are entirely derived from everyone's scores in the final game (i.e. if anybody wins 25-0 they win the comp)? Or does the final game simply decide whether you rank 1 above or 1 below the person on the same rank in the opposite pool?
