What are these chariots? Posted by Vince Cholewa, 13 November 2020

Help! I bought a bunch of chariots from Brent Senior-Partridge’s estate (thank you Mark, Alastair, Paul and Michail for all your work). Can anyone identify what are these models? I am considering using them for Mitanni.

Old style Hittite I would think. They look very similar to my 15mm Essex ones.

thank you. They are 25mm and are similar to 1/72 scale plastic models I have seen online.

they are most likely the CvO chariots, the KnO had three crew. I was just looking at the essexminatures site in the UK. Did not have those ones but do have similar. Maybe they are Old Glory. Not sure who else did those in the old days.…

Mittani are Cv(S) - lots of them! Plus a few Ax, Ps and Hd. Can have Hittite friends who can be Kn(O) chariots.

been a long while but I seem to recall the big difference was KnO were 3 crew and CvO/CvS were 2.

one of the cunning things about DBMM (perhaps DBx in general) is how such simple game mechanisms affect the game. In this case, a larger base makes chariots more awkward to use than cavalry.
When I eventually get the army finished I doubt I would use it in open competitions. Probably just against near contemporary “wheels” armies and others from book 1.
