Roving reporter, Alastair Duncan, at the Wellington Warlords yesterday [May 31]:

Another three DBMM games at the Warlords as Raymond Dicks' Republican Roman Minifigs and Garrison veterans just manged to beat off Daniel Wade’s Ancient Brits. Actually the massed aluminium light horse did the real work.

Next door fortified wooded hills didn't stop Bruce Fergussons Perry Swiss grind down Allen Yaxley’s Medieval Irish.

Meanwhile, Philip Gates’ Byzantines used up all their cunning to hold off Alastair Duncan’s Blemye (aka W Sudanese), long enough for the Gepid knights to throw enough 1s to give the game to the Blemye. To be fair they had searched all the way from the Sudan!

Raymond’s plan to attack my left flank worked well. It was almost on the point of breaking before I got my arse into gear and attacked his centre with my Warband. I threw some horrible dice earlier which didn’t help. The game ended with my left flank and centre broken but Raymond had two commands a point away from breaking. Four elements were all that was left holding the remains of my Warband. Great game with some laughs.
