Here are the pictures I took of my battle with Daniel Wade's Ancient Britons. Note Dan's beautiful paint jobs, which you can see most clearly in the last pic. As you can see, I managed to hold on in the centre against his warband and on the right with my Thracians Ax(S) slowly giving ground to his chariots Cv(O).
However, on the left of my phalanx I managed to get my Kn (X) vs Dan's Cv(O) chariots and knock them off. My artillery got a lucky 6-1 shot onto his Cv(O) CinC (white horses) which broke his command.
Unfortunately, the second round [Saturday afternoon] was restricted to a mere three hours after we found out just before lunchtime that we had to be out by 5:30pm as there was a 21st booked from 6pm!

2,279 pointsBeautiful, I hope you took a few moments just to bask in the spectacle of this. Well done chaps. I’m more of a (middling) modeller than a gamer so a scene like this proves to me there are others out there the same as me!

2,876 pointsThe next day I realised that I had made a fatal mistake with my C in C. I used my last pip to move her into a gap where she got shot at. I should have used her free move to get out of the way so I could use that pip to put another chariot into the gap. I cant find in the rules where it talks about the C in C's free move. Can that be done at any time or is it a last move?
