A question about Franks - asked by Simon Dennan, 8 June 2025

Hello All
I am looking for some advice. I am looking for suggestions for 28mm Fifth Century Franks.
I am a little confused if they are like the stereotypical hairy barbarians in AFL looking long tunics or if they are in more romanised kit with mature haircuts.
Any advice from more learned folk will be greatly appreciated.

If it was me, I'd be looking at the Wargames Foundry range. A cheaper option might be Old Glory.

Foundry's are nice. Wait till their Xmas sale and order enough to hit the 20% discount/free postage. Then they are only very rather than crazily expensive! https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collect.../franks-and-saxons

Michael Stonyer, your opinion on hairiness, or not, of fifth century Franks?

The Gallo-Romans called their new Frankish overlords “the Long Haired Kings”. Make of that what you will 😄
