ValleyCon: Middle Assyrians vs Early Achaemenid Persians - from Richard Foster, 30 April 2023

From Richard Foster a game at ValleyCon in which a flank march did arrive! Richard says:
Here are some pictures of my Middle Assyrians 820BCE vs Paul Graham's Persians.
In this game our allies, Paul's Scythians and my Hittites, both of whom were facing each other, were unreliable. In turn three my flank march arrived on the Persian left so Paul withdrew the Scythians from the front line with the view to re-positioning them to cover this new threat. My Hittites, despite being advised to do otherwise, stayed put.
In the centre, the Persian cavalry charged the Assyrian infantry but this proved fruitless. The Sparabara and Immortals fired their arrows into the sky and as it seems over the heads of everyone.
Eventually the Assyrian charoits arrived and the pressure was on. On the Persian left the Assyrian flank march inflicted severe casualties upon their opponents, killed their sub general and broke that command. This had a profound effect on both, still unreliable commands. My Hittites perked up and so as it turns out did the Skythians.

Note final picture which shows the Skythians looting their former master's baggage, obviously to get the extra funds still outstanding.
