A lovely gift: 15mm Armenian army - posted by Lorricount Du Ho, 15 May 2026

This is a 15mm DBMM Armenian allies gifted by the principal of the Tiger Room in Hong Kong Special Administration Region, People's Republic of China, to Luo Jiasi, the principal of the Sichuan base, to enhance the facilities of the base and to commend Mr. Luo for his selfless contribution in translating DBMM rules into Chinese. The principal delivered it to the Sha Tin Hotel where Mr. Wang (a wargamer in Sichuan on business trip to Hong Kong) resided, where it was received by the lobby reception and given to Mr. Wang to deliver to Mr. Luo. It contains 5 KnX (also usable as KnF), 8 LHF, 2 Ax, and 8 Ps.
At 7:17 AM, the Principal received Mr. Wang's reply in wechat regarding the hotel information. the Principal immediately went to Tiger room to organize and pick up the figures, departed at 7:50 AM, and arrived at the hotel at 8:40 AM, completing the transport mission.
This is the third time that the Principal had arranged donating 15mm painted ancients figures to Mainland China with a view to promote Ancients Miniatures Wargaming in China. The first time in June 2010 (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=403677299153&set=t.549747249&type=3) with Mr. Jeff Herbert (https://www.hksw.org/Herbert.htm) and the Principal donating his figures to wargamers in Beijing, China to promote DBA.
In 2024 April, this is the second time that I have arranged 15mm figures to be donated to China. This time by Tiger Room to Shanghai DBMM base. The figures were carried by Sam Kwan and received by "MuJung", the Principal of Shanghai DBMM base. It was a 400AP Late Judean army that could be used as an opponent for the Early Imperial Roman army there.

Lawrence: What DBMM armies do you have? For the Sichuan base, is 200 points the default army size? Do you mainly play 400 points now? Vice Principal Sin Qiu of Tiger Room started promoting DBA after moving to the UK.
Okay, then I'll send a DBA army to the Sichuan base. Fully painted, of course.
Luo Jiasi: The 400-point armies I have painted include roughly Spring and Autumn-Period & Warring States Chinese, Northern and Southern Dynasties Chinese, Alexandrian Successors army, and Late Imperial Roman Empire army. There are still few ancient miniatures wargamers in Sichuan, so we can only play occasionally. We've played both DBA and DBMM 400, but currently, it's better to promote DBA for new players. When promoting new players, we usually start with DBA. Then I'll gradually teach DBMM, and then we'll directly play DBMM 400. I also taught 200 points at the beginning, but my army wasn't complete at that moment in time. Now I have several 400-point armies, so I'm directly teaching 400.
Currently, there are still too few players with high interest. The DBA tutorials are quite good, but the DBMM400 is a bit too difficult, and the teaching effect isn't as good. I plan to focus on DBA tutorials until I find players with higher interest and acceptance levels before teaching DBMM400.
Yes, Gustavus online promotion of DBA competitions in Bilibili (the Chinese Youtube) is very effective. I plan to follow his example and promote DBA offline in Sichuan in the future.
