“Legion: Life in the Roman army”: This exhibition sounds superb. The loss of three legions (yes, Teutoburger Wald), how to explain history, the political misuse of history, a lorica segmentata reconstructed from 403 fragments, the life and love of a Palmyran auxiliary and a British woman (just for the romantics like me), and much more. There is a link at the end of this very good preview in The Guardian to the exhibition itself. Worth a visit to the British Museum!
