The link is to Alastair Mundell’s short history of New Zealand wargaming clubs - a nostalgic read

My own introduction to wargaming was a bit stop and start. I saw the Wellington Wargaming Section, as I think it was then, display at the central library in 1972 but I was a shy 10 year old and, although fascinated, did not talk to anyone. In 1979, through a school friend, I rediscovered what was by then the Wellington Warlords at St Luke’s church hall, Wadestown.
The pic is of the first two wargaming authors I read. “War Games” was the second wargaming book I read. The first was Brigadier Young’s “Charge!”

you might like to read if you havent yet Henry Hides "Wargames Compendium" from 2014 that has a full history of the early wargames and rules books. I just got it from the library and its great.
