Thebans on the painting table - posted by Josh Barton, 10 March 2019

Start of my next project, Thebans at Leuctra.
Started with the sacred band and used Russell Briant's idea of having each member's lover represented on their shield (and facing the lover).

  • Che Tibby great idea from you two. wasn't this the only army to out-gay the spartans?

    • Tilman Dang well, they answered the Spartans hard approach with being double deep, that worked well at leuctra it seemed.....didnt work well against the makedons later, maybe the Sarissa was just too long....
    • Che Tibby there's so many double entendre in there i'm not quite sure where to begin. lol
