NZ's first 25/28mm teams competition - posted by Allen Yaxley, 2 March 2019

January 2020, New Zealand’s first 28mm DBMM teams competition at Valley Con.🤗 ( bigger better venue )
Looking for two teams from Auckland ,
One from North Island central, one from the Wairarapa, two from the Hutt Valley, two from Wellington, one from South Island and one from Australia?
Four gamers per team, one for each of books 1-4.
I will start sorting teams in April but have hopefully got Vince and Paul as team leaders for Wellington,
John and Gary for Hutt Valley,
Phil for team Wairarapa,
Jim for team South, Andrew and Gerard for teams Auckland.
Looking for interest from Australia and a team leader. 😎
I haven’t spoken to all these gamers but I hope they are keen ?😱
Look forward to getting your positive feedback in April but please get some thoughts from those interested?
Cheers
Allen.

  • Nick Buckby My thoughts are:

    Have fun

For reasons, I won’t be there
Please don’t put me on any bulk email circulation.

    Ty.

  • Russell Briant Sounds outstanding
    2
  • Gerard Lelieveld First training game tomorrow
    3
  • Rob Shirley Best wishes with this Allen. TeamWars in Auckland which with its 4 man teams with the 6 team NZ geographic spread is pretty much in place for AoS and FOW and a bit behind with 40K. When I get back from ETC in Serbia I hope to be a lot more up-on-things. How big is the new ValleyCon venue? On my figuring that number of 6x8 spaces is a big footprint.

  • Allen Yaxley My estimated numbers may be a little hopeful but we will see.
The venue is still being discussed but bigger than the school where we played this year. Committee will decide later in year.
Probably need to get past Easter first. Good luck with your trip.

  • Vincent Cholewa What a great idea, Allen. I would happily help organise Team Wellington.
  • Allen Yaxley Thank you Vince. Paul is hopefully organising the other.
You will need to come up with a team name . 😱
Something vital and yet brilliant 😳

    • Allen Yaxley Up date to a couple of e-mails.
Each team has 4 gamers. One each for books 1-4. You will only play other gamers using same book number. 👏

Gary Lewis Most definitely. I'm probably going to be Book 4 in my as-yet unnamed Upper Hutt team, so looking for veterans of books 1, 2 and 3. I can swap to books 2 or 3 though if it helps make up a team.

Paul Graham Vince and I had our first captain's meeting today - we think team selection could work like schoolyard bullrush?

Russell Briant Paul Graham that would be two armies rushing at each other and the one that gets the most to the other side earn their general entry to the next round.... until there are.... never mind
