Went to see the Terracotta Warriors at Te Papa yesterday.
Some advice. IMHO only. 😍
Book the tickets for the time you wish to go before hand.
Tickets are available on first and forth floors but they don’t tell you that .
One person selling on mezzanine coping with huge lines of grumpy patrons. 😤
Only 200 people per session. Stay at the back when entering as every one rushing in does not allow good viewing. 😎
$19.50 each was very good value.
The WW1 display was also over subscribed but at least it’s still on show.😳
Did note that the souvenirs were all made in China🤪

Rob Shirley Cheers Allen Yaxley. Am coming down to ChariCon early so I can pick this exhibition up.
Vincent Cholewa Thank you for the advice, Allen Yaxley. Can you take photos at the exhibition?
Allen Yaxley Yes. Every one takes photos. Good reason not to be first. That way you don’t have reflected images of people in your shots.
Miriam Hughes-Cholewa Vincent Cholewa more importantly can you bring your dog? 😝😝

Vincent Cholewa Seleucids 300BC
Allen Yaxley Vincent Cholewa I had you down at 280BC. 🤪
Huge number of classical armies for Valley-Con.
Neil Williamson Allen Yaxley Vince wants his Heffelumps
Vincent Cholewa Neil Williamson and Allen Yaxleycorrect. The option I use is before 280 BC. Any date from 320 BC to 281 BC works. 300 is a nice round number and it is exactly 100 years after my chosen year for my Thracians.
Allen Yaxley Neil Williamson we will go with your plan to maximise the lumps.
Just waiting on Paul’s Palmyrans and Andrews Romans. 😳
Neil Williamson Oh well,if you are going with my plan - we'll have 260AD for those two. They should be happy chappies.

Russell Briant Release The Draw. He was wrongly convicted.
Allen Yaxley but his name was on “The List” of 16.
John van den Hoeven Draw or Drew?
Allen Yaxley Drew is not drawn as he is not listed. 🙀
John van den Hoeven What about Brace? 😉
Allen Yaxley By de-pol Brace is Bruce.😍
Tilman Dang people who draw should not be released, whatever the Drew (btw. anybody seen Ms. Barrymore lately? or is that off topic?)
Dirk Heinsius BTW Allen at Valleycon I will be Egyptian 22nd Dynasty 725 BC
Also need final nominated armies for Valley Con from Bruce, Peter, James and Paul.

On my painting table - posted by Vince Cholewa, 15 December 2018
On my painting table: Light horse I have painted for a friend to expand the options for his Alans. I have six more elements to paint - should be done over the holidays. There are also some running repairs needed by some of my Seleucids after recent games, the pavisors for my early 16th century Polish army, and the slowly expanding small pile of crossbowmen for the second rank behind the pavisors.

A Roman dice tower! Alea iacta est - posted by Vince Cholewa, 5 December 2018
A Roman throwing tower found at Vettweiß-Froitz-heim in Germany. The sides have been worked open, so that the players could see the dice rolling. Invented to prevent cheating.Text on the back reads: 'utere felix vivas' ('use it and live as a lucky man').
On the front it says ' Pictos victos hostis deleta ludite securi' (' The Picts have been defeated, the enemy destroyed, play carefree').
The text refers to a Roman victory over the Picts in Scotland, north of Roman Britannia.
