The combined forces of Outremer - posted by Ben Vartok, 13 April 2026

Doing a bit of Future proofing for my DBMM gaming. The OG Ghaznavids have been able to morph to Timurids for a while now. In the future, later this year, they will be able to morph to Ghurids. But as of tonight they can morph to Syrians in 1244 with a Late Crusader ally pack just completed. The Future of DBMM 2.1 in Birkenhead is darn good!
So in 1244 the Syrians of Damascus, Homs and Kerak along with the combined forces of Outremer had a go at the Ayyubids in Egypt, it didn't go well but provides a nice modelling opportunity with Templars, Hospitallers, Teutonics and secular knights all present. I was also given a shield transfer from a 1291 Templar Grandmaster, Theobald Gaudin, a distant familial connection. So he is Sub General a few years earlier than he actually was in the Middle East. That's ok, perhaps Doc Brown can get him back to the Future.
All combat figures are Gripping Beast. On the baggage bases there is Foundry, Grenadier, Bad Squiddo, Artizan, Steve Barber, Tabletop Terrain, Mantic and other random bits.

And when we do battle don't forget to ask about our homeloans and insurance.

These look superb, and please, please is there a holy hand grenade of Antioch?
“Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

Nope, I did consider some of the 28mm Python Miniatures but they are way too expensive. And I did price up a Trojan Bunny.........That said I did paint one guy as the Black Knight, he's the one holding the giant two handed sword and has the boars head transfer the Black Knight has in The Holy Grail.
